Obituary for
Penne Patricia Chadala (Wood)
Chadala, Penne
On July 31, 2019 at Stedman Community Hospice, Penne Chadala (formerly Cruickshank) ended her 12 year battle with metastatic breast cancer and left her heartbroken family and friends to be with our Lord, Jesus in heaven. Born in East York on October 23, 1957, Penne was a graduate of Guelph University and was an elementary school teacher and principal for 35 years in the WDSB before her retirement in 2015. Survived by her husband Rob, daughters Amy (Jason Blair), Rachel (Devin Weatherby), mother Arlene Wood ( the late Peter), in-laws Anne and Zigmunt Chadala and sister Tracy (Phil Cruickshank). Penne adored children and loved being Nana to Gabriel and Vanessa. The entire Cruickshank, Wood and Chadala families will forever miss her zest for life, her flair for decorating, her passion to try new foodie establishments and her endless friendships in teaching and in the communities where she lived. Please join us for a time of worship, celebration and tears while we share joyful memories and grieve our loss at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, Ontario.
Penne’s family will receive relatives and friends from 7- 9 p.m. on Monday August 5, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, a funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday August 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with everyone invited to the reception following. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Penne would appreciate contributions to Metavivor Research and Support, Inc., (1783 Forest Drive #184, Annapolis MD. 21401) as it uses 100% of donations to fund research for cures to metastatic cancer( the same cannot be said for other cancer agencies).
WE LOVE YOU PENNE! THE WORLD IS A BETTER PLACE BECAUSE YOU GAVE SO MUCH!
