Otto Lindsey Fiander

With profound sadness we, the family of Otto Lindsey Fiander, share news of his passing on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the age of 92. Predeceased by wife Helen (2002) and son Bernie (2018). Leaving to mourn with treasured memories, daughters Brenda (Jim Grieve), Edmonton, Pearl Blagdon, St. John’s and Daughter-in-Law Carly Fiander (Placentia). Grandchildren Angela Crawford (Paul), Bob Fiander (Melinda), Debbie Blagdon (Karl Linehan), Karen Fiander, Rick Blagdon, Chris Blagdon (Kimberly), Sheena Byrne (Robert) and Samuel Grieve. Great grandchildren Abby, Ava, Ellie, Eve, Patrick, Alex, William and Haylee. Also leaving to mourn Winnie Davidge of English Hr. West. Winnie was very special to Otto and he considered her family as part of his own.
Otto was a gentleman and a kind soul. He was a man of great integrity and could always becounted on by those who were fortunate to know him. He was a respected member of his community and a Principal and Teacher to thousands of students throughout his career. He took great pride in all that he accomplished throughout his life. He never gave up his beloved hobbies of fishing, hunting and “strolls in over the hills”. His greatest pride was his family whom he loved with all his heart. There will be a gathering of family and close friends to say good bye at 11:00am on Saturday, August 24th, 2019 at the Carnell Memorial Chapel, 329 Freshwater Road. A memorial service will be announced at a future time to celebrate Otto’s life at his hometown in Fortune Bay.
