Blizzard; Neil Allison – After a courageous battle with cancer we say goodbye to Neil. Surrounded by his loving family Neil passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019. Neil was born in Saint John, New Brunswick on August 29, 1939.
Neil is survived by his wife of 57+ years Ethel Blizzard, daughters Bonny Shaddick and Kim Dunn. Loving grampy to Bailey Spicer and James, Sara and Emily Vidal and great-grampy to Jayden Spicer. Neil has joined his granddaughter Miranda Shaddick in Heaven.
Neil was a 35+ year Veteran with the Canadian Armed Forces who travelled throughout Canada and Europe. Neil was a musician and loved entertaining. He was well known for playing his saxophone and loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an incredible cook.
The family would like to thank the Cancer Clinic, Dr. Curran, the Palliative Care team and RPN Matt at the Napanee Hospital for their compassion and support during this difficult time.
The family would also like to thank all of their neighbours and friends both near and far for their phone calls and visits and food.
Respecting Neil’s wishes there will not be a service however a Celebration of Life will be held for friends and family on Sunday, September 8, 2019 between 2:00 – 5:00 pm at the Napanee Legion Upstairs.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made by cheque to the Napanee District High School Music Department or The Red Cross. On-line condolences at www.wartmanfuneralhomes.com.
