Nancy’s Obituary
Demings, Nancy Elaine, 63, of Birchtown passed away peacefully on August 26, 2019 at Roseway Hospital with her family by her side after a four year battle with cancer. Born in Sandy Point, she was a daughter of the late Ruth and Everett Butler. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Tom Demings; her sons, Thomas (Deanne); Matthew (Sheri); David (Christina); step-daughter Julie (Jimmy); grandchildren, Caylynn, Caleb, Madyson, Spencer, Jacob, Bella, Ashton, and Brent; great-grandchild Rylan; sister Sandra Acker; nephew, Bobby (Jolene), niece Kara (Brandon). She was predeceased by her parents, niece Carol Ruth Anne and many other family members. Nancy was a lady of great faith. Nancy lived for her boys and her family. She loved her trips back to the lake, drives to the dealerships with the boys, watching movies with the grandkids, tending to her gardens, reading, and lots of snuggles with her dog Goldie. Nancy was well known for her brown bread and her way around the kitchen. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the many relatives and friends who helped care and pray for her throughout her illness. Special thanks to the many doctors and nurses at the VG Hospital in Halifax and Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Heartfelt thanks for the exceptional care provided by the VON and the Roseway Hospital staff. The family invites you to gather to celebrate her life on August 29th at 2pm at the Shelburne Community Centre with a reception to follow. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 28th from 7-9 pm at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. Family flowers only. Interment will take place at a later date.
