1927-2019
Muriel Irene Allen – 92, of Port Williams, passed
away Friday, August 9, 2019 at home. Born in Canning, she was a
daughter of the late Ernest and Catherine (Dow) Anthony. Muriel had
been employed as a teller for many years in several local banking
institutions. Muriel was also a member of St. John’s
Anglican Church, Wolfville. Involved with the ACW, a member of the
Christian Women’s Club, she also assisted with several
charities. Muriel is survived by two daughters, Linda (Larry) Bennett,
Fredericton, NB; Judith Tait, Heriot Bay, BC; three grandchildren,
Karen (Vernon) Dube, SK; Ryan (Julia) Bennett, AB; Kathryn
(Christopher) Merriam, NB; six great-grandchildren, Austin Dube, MB;
Joshuah Dube, MB; Meadow Bennett, AB; Nicholas Bennett, AB; Jenika
Merriam, NB; Deanna Merriam, NB; step-daughters, Sheri (Michael)
Heskins, AB; Sandi (Donald) Manson, AB; step-grandchildren, Danny and
Joseph Manson, Matthew and Stephen Heskins and several nieces and
nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband, Paul Healy; her
second husband, Robert Allen; sister, Joyce Schofield; brothers,
Elmer, Murray, Leslie and Kenneth. Cremation has taken place and there
will be no visitation, by her request. The funeral service, followed
by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2019 in
St. John’s Anglican Church, Wolfville, The Reverend Shirley
Cole officiating. Burial will take place in the Gaspereau Cemetery.
Donations in memory may be made to St. John’s Anglican
Church or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been
entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
