Michael Joseph Koss

Passed away peacefully on August 17, 2019 in Richmond B.C. at the age of 93. He was predeceased by his wife, Florence, in 2001. Dad and mom are again together.
Michael is survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Son, Gary and wife, Maureen. Grandson Peter/Stephanie and great grandson Sacha, granddaughter Erin/Rick with great grandchildren Sophie, Hunter and Maddie and grandson Byron. Daughter Debria and husband, Ian Baker with grandson Michael and granddaughter Kimberly/Tory with great granddaughter Talia. Son Tim and wife, Cathy with grandson Duncan/Courtney, grandson Joshua, granddaughter Elizabeth and grandson Nicholas. He is survived by his older sister Emily Dlugon, as well as, many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Mary Medwyck.
Dad was born in Mundare, Alberta on July 4,1926. He grew up in Mundare and then he moved to Edmonton. He moved to Vancouver and attended University of British Columbia. In the early 1950’s he moved to Richmond with his wife where he worked as a contractor building custom homes, including 4 unique homes for him and his family. He sold his last house on Cairnmore in Richmond and lived his final days at Rosewood Manor. He was active with his church and community. In his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, travel and also enjoyed his grandchildren and lately his great grandchildren.
His funeral mass will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 23, 2019 at St. Monica’s Catholic Church with Father Robert Wong as the celebrant. A reception in the church hall will follow.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in Michael’s name to the Rosewood Manor Foundation at 6260 Blundell Road, Richmond, B.C.
