It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, May (Fraser ) Stockwell on Friday, August 2, 2019 in her 97th year. Born September 29, 1922 in Blythe, Northumberland England. Daughter of the late John and Catherine (Rutherford) Fraser. Beloved Wife of the late Lt/Col Gordon Robert Stockwell. Loving mother of Sandra (Jim Jeffs), Margaret (Glyne Rollock), Philip (Marian), Catherine (Dan Rodgers), Nancy, Kimberley (Randy Young),Richard. Cherished Babushka (Grandmother) to Brian, Micheal, Christopher, Ashley, Jennifer, Melanie, Sean, Laura, Kevin, Timothy, Kathleen, Gordon, Anna, Amy, Sarah, Lucas, Kathryn, Travis, Kolton, Kyle, Ryan, Whitney, Brooklyn. Great grandmother to 22. She was pre-deceased by her grandson Edwin and brothers Alec, Don, Edwin, Charles, Jack and Neil. Mum will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews and friends.
May was a World War ll veteran in the UK. Serving in the RAF Jan 41-Jan 1946 and was posted to Canadian 431 Iroquois Bomber SQ 6 group. She was a War bride and always said , she was meant to come to Canada to have all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved volunteering at CHEO as a baby cuddler for several years. She was an avid reader, self taught accomplished artist , and enjoyed knitting for her children and grandchildren for many years. She also had a love of classical music,figure skating and tennis.
Honouring Mays wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral. No flowers please. Private Memorial for family will be at a later date.
