Obituary for Mary Maxim
Mary Agnes Maxim, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully at Fairfield Park on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the age of 88. Mary is the daughter of the late William James & Margaret Catherine (Smith) Armstrong. Predeceased by her beloved husband Fred in 2018. Loving mother of Fred Jr. (Carrie) and William (Tracey). Dearest grandmother of Bradley and Megan. She will be fondly remembered by her brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary was a Home Economics teacher in Petrolia District High School where she met her husband Fred before moving to Wallaceburg in 1965 to raise their family. Her skills in cooking, baking and sewing are still talked about by her former pupils. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church and member of the I.O.D.E Harriet Newkirk Chapter. She also enjoyed golfing, her investment and bridge clubs and her summer home in Bright’s Grove. The family would like to thank the staff of Fairfield Park for the compassionate care that she received while she was there. The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Tuesday. The funeral will be celebrated at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 4 at 11 AM. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Sarnia. If desired, remembrances to the CKHA-Sydenham Campus or Knox Presbyterian Church may be left at the funeral home 519.627.3231. Online tributes may be left at www.CavanaghFuneralHome.ca
