Passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at The Village at University Gates at the age of 95.
Beloved wife of the late Douglas Reinhardt.
Loving mother of Jim (Barb Bast), Paul (Julie), Tom (Dale Livingstone) and Anne (Jim MacKinnon).
Cherished grandmother of Dylan and Jack MacKinnon.
Survived by her nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her father Wellington, mother Olive and brother Bill Smith.
Mary Jane was a devoted wife, an amazing mother and a very proud grandmother. Her love for all, warm and friendly smile and complimentary nature touched the lives of everyone she met. “Smitty” was known for her fabulous cooking and generous hospitality.
There are so many names, however MJ lived in the Downy Neighbourhood. All the wonderful and caring PSW’s, Nurses, Charge Nurses and the entire staff at The Village at University Gates, we would like to thank them for their professional and caring devotion to MJ’s wellbeing.
Mary Jane’s family will receive relatives and friends from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A private family funeral mass will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Pound Dog Rescue, Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
