Obituary for Martha Gray
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Martha Gray on August 19, 2019 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital at the age of 92.
Martha will be remembered for her steadfast faith, love for the Lord, her kind, giving, hardworking spirit and her amazing cabbage rolls. Martha never passed judgement on others; she shared her gift of hospitality continually throughout her whole life. Her prairie style of cooking was legendary, her home baked goods were unforgettable.
Martha and Zane ran local businesses including the Holmes Motel, and Casper’s Restaurant. While residing in Creston, B.C. Martha ran a foster home for many years. She impacted many children’s lives with her love and grace. She will be missed by many, who’s lives she gracefully touched over the years.
Martha is survived by her daughters Clarene (Bruce), Debbie (Ian), Donna (Joel) sons Evan, John (Carolyn) sister Clara, grandchildren, Travis, Candis, Jamie, Sarah, Jordan four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Zane, parents Jacob and Amelia, and seven of eight siblings.
A service will be held at McPherson Funeral Service, Sunday ~ September 1st, 2019 at 2:00pm
