Obituary of Marjorie O’Brien (nee Smith)
O’BRIEN, Marjorie (née Smith)- Of Extendicare, London, formerly St. Thomas and RR3, St. Thomas, passed into the presence of the Lord at LHSC, University Hospital on Sunday, August 4, 2019, in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late John A. O’Brien (2003). Dearly loved mother of Diana Lynn Rock of Ilderton, and Rod O’Brien (Carmella) of London. Also fondly remembered by 9 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. Marjorie was the last surviving member of her own immediate family, having been predeceased by two sisters and four brothers. Born in Sheffield, England on July 6, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Beatrice (née Southern) Smith. Marjorie was a former member of the housekeeping staff at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. Born again Nov. 28, 1971, she was in fellowship with the Christians Gathered in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ (Gospel Hall), 1 Sunset Dr., St. Thomas . Relatives and friends will be received by the family on Thursday, August 8th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St. , St. Thomas (519-631-1160) where the funeral service will be held on Friday, August 9th at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Union Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario will be gratefully acknowledged.
