Memorial Donation
MELVIN, Margaret Eleanor (nee Colbert). It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear 96 year old mother and grandmother Marg Melvin of Bauline, Southern Shore. Marg was the sweetest, kindest, nicest and most considerate person anyone could ever meet.
Predeceased by her husband Steve in 2000 and her son Gary in 1988, as well as her parents Ellen & Samuel Colbert, sister, brothers, and inlaws: Marie (Gerald) Melvin, France (Susie) Colbert; Matt (Amelia) Colbert, John (Margaret) Colbert and Joseph Colbert.
Leaving behind with a lifetime of happy memories are her daughter Phyllis (Ken) Chidley, son Robbie (Glenda) Melvin and her grandchildren, Jessica, Robert, Michael and Jillian, as well as her dear older sister Rose Slaney, and her many nieces, nephews and friends.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the health care workers at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital who were very kind to mom over the past many weeks, as well as to her home care family, Juana, Daphne, and Jackie.
Visitation will be from 2-9pm Thursday, August 29th at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls. Mass of Christian burial to take place at St. Michael’s RC Church, St. Michael’s on Friday, August 30th at 11 am. Interment to follow at St. Michael’s RC Cemetery.
Mom’s faith in GOD held true to the very last and her parting words were “Praise the Lord”.
