Clair McKerchar, 66, of Stratford passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital, London on Saturday, August 3, 2019.
Survived by his loving and devoted companion Bev McNaught, son Patrick McKerchar and Patrick’s mother Lynda. Dear brother of Elaine Spencer (Jim). Dear brother-in-law of Mel Mohninger. Dear uncle of Jennifer, Andrew, Megan and Carly. He will also be sadly missed by his uncle Mike, aunt Myrle, many cousins and life long friend Rick Bennett.
Predeceased by his parents Finlay and Mary McKerchar, step-father Tom Jaffray, brother Don McKerchar and sister Marylyn Mohninger.
Clair was born and educated in Winnipeg where he operated various businesses including a Petro Canada Station. In 2002, he moved to Stratford and operated Zehr’s Gas Bar on Ontario St. until 2010. He more recently worked at Radio Cab in Stratford. Clair will be remembered for his sense of humour, smile and welcoming nature.
A celebration of Clair’s life will be held at the Lockhart Reception Centre, 116 Montreal St., Mitchell on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 3-5 p.m. with words of remembrance at 4:00 p.m. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, Mitchell. Memorial donations to the Cancer Society or Stratford Humane Society may be made at LockhartFuneralHome.com
