In Loving Memory of
Lloyd Alvin Landstrom
81 years
Peacefully, Friday, August 16th, 2019 at St. Gabriel’s Villa, Chelmsford, with his loving wife at his side.
Beloved husband of Mary Landstrom (nee Bratina). Loving father of Mark Landstrom (wife Suzanne) and Arlene Carey (John). Cherished grandfather of Michael, Jade, and Jacob. Dear son of Edna (nee Fenske) and Clarence Landstrom both predeceased. Dear brother of Evelyn Everett predeceased (Harvey), Marilyn Eliason predeceased (Grant), and Wayne (Judy). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and neighbours at Wellington Heights.
He was born in Fort St. John, B.C., and later moved as a child to Govan, SK, settling in Sudbury in 1959. Lloyd had worked at INCO for 34 years, retiring as a general foreman in 1993. A man of faith, he had been a longtime member of St. Paul’s United Church and more recently, All Peoples’ United Church. He enjoyed woodworking and he was known as an accomplished Mr. Fix-it. Lloyd’s other interests included playing baseball, hockey, hunting, and fishing. Lloyd was self-taught and talented at playing the guitar, fiddle, and mandolin, often playing st retirement and nursing homes and other functions. He played in the NO-NAME BAND and the Parkside Gang Band. Lloyd was devoted to his family and happiest when in their company. The light of his life will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. Lloyd can echo the words of St. Paul – “I have fought the good fight. I finished my course. I kept the faith.”
