We are profoundly saddened by the passing of our matriarch after a most courageous battle, in her one-hundredth year, on Friday, August 16, 2019. Wife of the late Hyman Itscovitch. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Ellen and Steve Barrett, Murray and Eva Itscovitch and the late Bernie. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Goldie and the late Terry Da Silva. Predeceased by her siblings and their spouses Harry and Esther Pasechnick, Annie and Al Schafer, Lou Pasechnick, Adele and Hyman Cohen; and by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Mary and Sam Wiseman, Lilly and Simon Bresner, Edith and Ben Harris. Cherished Bubbie of Robbie Barrett, Debbie and Charles Murphy; Marlene and Lorne Schacter, Jeffrey and Marni Itscovitch; Sheree and Mike Rafael, and Jodie Itscovitch. Cherished great-grandmother of Emily and Olivia Barrett; Peyton Barrett-Meriano; Madison and Corey Schacter; Cayla, Andrew and Kyle Itscovitch; Amanda and Corey Rafael; Justin and Brandon Gencher. Proud great-great-grandmother of Noah Rafael. She will be sadly mourned by Eva’s children, Joel and Sally, and Eli Tietolman. Leah will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. An exceptional and devoted woman who always put the needs of others before herself, Leah was an inspiration to all. Heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers Olga and May for their outstanding care and compassion.
