Obituary of Jose L. Cruz
CRUZ- Jose L. of Port Colborne passed peacefully at his home in the arms of his loving wife on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband of Louise (nee Coté) for almost 60 years, loving father of Rosa Lancaster. Also survived by brothers-in-law Claude, Roger, Henri, Nelson, sisters-in-law Suzanne, Denise, Pauline and many nieces and nephews. Jose was predeceased by his parents Manuel II and Rosa, his brothers Lino, Manuel III, his sisters Ermelinda, Maria and other family members. Born in Agua Retorta, Sao Miguel, Azores, he immigrated to Canada in 1954 and settled in Port Colborne in 1956. The Cruz family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be held in the Davidson Chapel on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Niagara, 403 Ontario Street, St. Catharines or the Salvation Army.
