Mr. John VanLaecke of Vanessa, passed away suddenly at the Norfolk General Hospital , Simcoe on Friday, August 16, 2019 in his 61st year. John loved being outside. He was a kind and loving man who genuinely enjoyed helping people with his handyman skills, shovelling snow, cutting grass, fixing old cars, machinery and kilns; whatever he could do to help. He enjoyed music and his grandchildren. Member of St. Anthony Daniel Roman Catholic Church, Scotland . Beloved husband of Anita Dewaele. Loving father of Jessica Townsend (Andrew) and Shawn VanLaecke (Kassey). Cherished grandfather of Dylan and Taylor. Dearest brother of Janice Vanneste (Eric) and Jim VanLaecke (Annette). Also survived by his mother-in-law, Margaret Andries. Predeceased by his parents, Marie (Duwyn, 1997) and August VanLaecke (2002) and by his brother, Jerry VanLaecke (2012). Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (mfh.care) for visitation on Sunday, August 25, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Anthony Daniel Roman Catholic Church, Scotland on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Peter Ciallella officiating. Inurnment in Sacred Heart Cemetery , Langton. Donations to the Tinnitus Association of Canada will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
