Peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Thursday August 1, 2019 in his 86th year. John Gillies of Pembroke and formerly of Petawawa, beloved husband of Jessie Gillies (nee Mackaie). Loved father of Linda Arsenault (Arty), Petawawa. Loving grandfather to Janelle MacDonald, Ryan Arsenault (Sarah) and Brittany Dafoe (Todd) and great grandson Nathan Dafoe. Dear brother of Mary Ward in England. Predeceased by his brother Dave Gillies, sister Betty Moyles and infant grandson John. Respecting John’s wishes cremation has taken place. Interment at a later date in Scotland. In memory of John, donations to the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangement in care of the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Pembroke.
