John Arthur Dodd 1948 2019

Obituary for
John Arthur Dodd
John was born December 10, 1948 to Gertrude Berthiaume and Paul Dodd. On April 25, 2017, he was given a second chance at life when he received a double-lung transplant. Then this June, the unthinkable happened. He developed a very agressive metastasized cancer. He died on August 5, 2019. John was predeceased by his sister Pat and brother Bill. John loved his children Kevin (Heather) and Jennifer (Brian). He loved his stepchildren Alexandre (Jennifer) and Joël (Denise). He was granddad to Joshua, Bennet, Thieren, and very special Dadad to Noah and Jacob. He loved his father-in-law Paul with whom he had lively discussions and Bruce and Danielle who came to our rescue so very often. John had a long career with Combustion Engineering, which became ABB and then Alstom Power.
John enjoyed our Friday wine down, golf, Star Wars LEGOS, Blue Jays baseball and reading. He was also a masterful woodworker. John had a quick wit, wonderful sense of humour, was a true gentleman and he had a calm and steady demeanour. He had many friends from work and those at the Ottawa Lung Maintenance Exercise Program. But most of all he was my soulmate and my best friend. I love you mon amour. Marie-Lyne
At John’s request, no funeral service will be held. In memoriam gifts can be made to the Bruyère Foundation.
