HUSKINS; Carolyn Ann (Dexter) passed away peacefully on August 25, 2019 at Queens General Hospital. She died as she lived, with her beloved family by her side.
Born in Brooklyn in 1944, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Sanford and Florence (Gerhardt) Dexter and was a fixture in Queens County for all of her 75 years.
Carolyn worked for many years at Wong’s Restaurant and was a valued volunteer at the Queens General Gift Shop and at her church. Her real passion was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When not knitting, reading or driving around town, Carolyn was happiest with a full house for which she loved to cook and bake. Her coconut cream pies, turkey dinners, and strong cups of tea were the essence of any gathering and embodied the love she had for her family. Her Sunday nights with Judy and Lanny were always the highlight of her week.
Carolyn leaves behind her husband of 40 years, Eric; She is survived by Jamie (Phaedra) Huskins, Kathy (Chubby) Veinot, Pam (Todd) DeLong, Patti (Gordon) MacLeod, Peter (Laura) Huskins, Quentin (Jenny) Dexter, and Lee (Shelley) Petter. Also left to mourn are her 20 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; her siblings Doug (Donna) Dexter, Brian (Vicki) Dexter, Judy (Lanny) Francis and Joan Rhyno. Her daughter in law Sherry Huskins.
and a multitude of friends and extended family.
Pre-deceased by her son Paul.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com
