G. Dale Garland, 81, of K. E.
Spencer Memorial Home, passed away peacefully at his residence on
Thursday, August 8, 2019.
Born in Moncton, he was the
son of the late Gorham and Reta (McQuinn)
Garland.
Dale was the owner
of Garland Home Hardware, a family business, from 1946 –
1990; past President of the Canadian Retail Hardware Association and
past President of the National Retail Hardware Association. He was a
member of Acacia Lodge #49, F. & A.M. and his fondness for
Albert County inspired him to write a book, “Caledonia Albert Co.
the Last 200 Years”.
Dale will be sadly missed by
his wife, Joan (Crossman) Garland; daughter, Susan Gogin (Dan) and
son, David (Cecile); son-in-law, Danny Gillcash, as well as several
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he
was predeceased by his daughter, Judy
Gillcash.
In keeping with
Dale’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours or funeral
service.
Arrangements in care of
Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton
(858-1995).
In memory of Dale, donations
to Covered Bridges Conservation Association of New Brunswick would be
