Born in Evans Street, Charleston, Guyana, South America, she then traveled to Canada in 1968; She became employed with Grimms/Janes Family Foods (1977 some -42 years), with the same employer/company. Beloved mother/mother-in-law to Debbie Duncan-Ellis-Henningham (Orvil Henningham), Carlotta Duncan-Ewing (Keith Ewing), Andrew Duncan (Yummi Duncan), Ronald Bascom (Michelle Bascom), and Vanessa Smith-Keyes (Malcom Keyes). Grandmother to Nicolia, Andrew, Shemica, Devante, Jammarr, Shaquille, Fatimah, Keishaun, Nathaniel (aka. Ethan), Zen, and Finalli. Great Grandmother to Serenity, Daya, Aryus, RJ, Jazzy-Lynn, Camilla, Milania, Destiny, Mateo, and Titus. Sadly missed by her brothers Cecil (Claudia Abraham), William, Carlton (aka Compton), and great uncle Gerald Hazel. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Gloria was loved by her esteemed colleagues, respected and trusted by her many friends and family, from her co-worker at Jane’s Family Foods, and country relations of Camberville, Guyana, South America, and within the communities she lived in from Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga, Etobicoke, and Sudbury
Many people within our family may refer to Gloria as “Harriett Tubman”, as she worked diligently to get people to a place of safety whenever the opportunity presented itself.

(Friends may gather after 2:30pm Thursday).
A private cremation has taken place.
