PETKAU, Gladys Irene
August 20, 1937 – August 9, 2019
Gladys passed away peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital at the age of 81. She is loved and remembered by her husband of almost 61 years, Cecil and daughter Bonnie (Jason Wise) Petkau-Wise, brothers Dennis (Sheila) Stockman and George Stockman, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Rudolph and Hazel Stockman, brother Earl, brother-in-law Glenn, and parents-in-law. Gladys grew up in Beechy, SK and then went on to business college in Saskatoon, receiving her business degree. She then went back home and worked as a bank teller for many years. Gladys met the love of her life, Cecil, at a dance in Beechy when she was in grade 12. They went on to get married 5 years later. They welcomed their daughter Bonnie after they moved to Saskatoon. Gladys continued to work as a bank teller in Saskatoon, then started her own cleaning business until retirement. Gladys loved the flowers in her yard that her husband would grow for her. She was an avid reader and always enjoyed a glass of wine. She especially enjoyed playing bingo every Wednesday at Arbor Green Seniors Complex, often coming home with a win. A special thank-you to the entire staff at Extendicare for the care that was given to Gladys. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Westgate Alliance Church (3315 Centennial Dr.) in Saskatoon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements in care of David Schurr – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Gladys Petkau..
