It is with profound sadness
that we announce the death of our father, brother uncle ,and
friend.
Gerald
“Jed” Peter Corbett 70 of Sydney passed away
Wednesday July 31, 2019 at the Dartmouth General Hospital.after a
short battle with cancer.
Born in Sydney, he was the
son of the late James B. and Margaret G. (Quinn)
Corbett.
Jed Gerald was survived by
his daughter Christine “Tina” Corbett, Dartmouth,
son Jason (Ashley Burke), Halifax, sister Colleen MacPherson, Sydney,
brothers Melvin, Sydney, and Shaun (Lillian),
Benacadie.
He was predeceased by his
wife Barbara (MacMullin), sister Pricilla Waddel, brothers James,
Patrick and Ronald.
Jed was a school teacher for
35 years and was very active in the Nova Scotia Teachers
Union.
Truly the real passion in his
life was hockey. he loved to play hockey three to four times a week
.His favorite game was Friday night hockey at the Pier
rink.
As well he was a devoted
hockey fan remaining loyal to the Toronto Maple Leafs in the
good and bad years.
Visitation celebrating
Jed’s life will be held Thursday August 8, 2019 from 4
– 7 pm in Sydney Memorial Chapel. Interment will take place
at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the
Cancer Unit at the Cape Breton Regional
Hospital.
