Peacefully, at Hospice Renfrew, surrounded by the love of his family, on Monday August 5, 2019 in his 88th year. George Spencer of Pembroke, beloved husband of Joanna Spencer (nee Krueger). Loved and cherished Dad to Donald Stalbe (Diane), Dennis Stalbe and Debra Kuehl (James). Loving grampa to Geena Stalbe, Nicholas and Samantha Kuehl. Dear brother of Ruby McIntyre, Dorothy Webster, Shirley Davey, Henry and Robert Spencer. Predeceased by brothers Edward and William Spencer and sisters Mabel Norton (late Gordon) and Betty Currie. Sadly missed by all his nieces and nephews. Son of the late Elmer and Floris (nee Wheeler) Spencer and beloved son-in-law of the late Janis and Zenija Stalbe. Friends are invited to share their memories of George with his family during visitation at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Friday 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday August 10th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, 503 Alfred Street, Pembroke, followed by cremation. In memory of George, donations to Hospice Renfrew, St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church or the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
