La célébration de
Fausto Morrone
8 février 1925 –
1 août 2019
Peacefully, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s, Fausto passed away on Thursday, August 1st at Villa Leonardo Gambin Retirement Home, at the tender age of 94. He is reunited with his beloved wife Mabel, his parents Carmela Vitelli and Pietro Morrone, and all of his siblings: Lorenzo (Rosina), Emilio, Ida (Francesco Mancuso), Esterina (Franco Mancuso), Ernesto and Mario (Vicky).
He will be greatly missed by his step-son Bruce Weichel, his granddaughters Kelly Maxwell (Paul), Kortney Weichel (Pat Schmidt), Brynn and Bria Weichel; his sisters-in-law Gina Morrone and Rita Morrone, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families —both in North America and in Italy.
The younger nieces and nephews were his children. They will never forget his regular visits with Kit-Kat chocolates and quarters for “caramelle” as well as the best Christmas, Easter and birthday presents.
Fausto will be fondly remembered by many extended relatives, good friends and paisani, for his laughter, his great love of dancing and Frank Sinatra music, as well as his strong ties to his beloved Trenta. His early years on the Queensway found him often in the Hollywood Tavern or dancing at the Mayfair. Once he found his beloved Mabel, and moved to Waterloo Avenue, his dancing days took off as they shared every Saturday night at a dinner dance near them.
He and Mabel shared their final years together at Villa Leonardo Gambin and their love for each other transcended any illnesses or challenges they might have experienced. The family would like to sincerely thank the kindnesses and care extended to them at Villa Leonardo Gambin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to Villa Leonardo Gambin.
