Etta Elliott

Etta M. Elliott
With great sadness, we announce the
passing of Etta Marie (Thibodeau) Elliott on August 25, 2019 at The
Moncton Hospital, after a brief period of failing health. She
celebrated her 95th birthday on May 15. Etta
was born in Saint John and raised in Moncton by her Aunt and Uncle,
Barbara (Saulnier) and David Thibodeau along with her cousins, Albert,
Eddie, Fred, Leo and Howie.
Etta worked for many years at Atlantic
Wholesalers. She attended St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic
Church, was an avid alley bowler, bridge player, and exceptional lawn
bowler, even competing at a national level several times representing
NB.
Etta is survived by her nephew, Peter
Bond, whom she and Mort raised as their son since he was nine years
old, and was beloved Grammy to Justin and Allyson. She was predeceased
by her husband Mort (Edward) Elliott in January 2001, and her infant
grandson, Connor in December 1994. She will be missed by several
nieces, nephews and many friends.
We would like to thank the staff at
the Hillside View Special Care Home, and the doctors and nurses at The
Moncton Hospital. A very special thank you to Dr. Jamie Stewart and
his wife Debbie for their wonderful care of Etta over a number of
years.
