“Betty” age 73 of Canso formerly of Little
Dover. We are saddend to announce the passing of Elizabeth
“Betty” Richard; she passed away peacefully on Friday,
August 30, 2019 in Canso Seaside Manor surrounded by her family. Born
in Halifax, Betty is a daughter of the late William Charles and
Florence (Williams) Bouchie.
Betty is survived by her husband, Raymond; sons, Ronnie,
Adrian (Debbie), Clayton (Judy); grandchildren, Marlee, Andrea,
Krista, Jenna and Trent and great-grandson, Liam. Besides her parents
she was predeceased by her sisters, Joan Martell (Alfred), Lillian
Farrell (Fred), Shirley Kinsmen (Douglas); brother, Charlie Bouchie,
in infancy.
Betty, loved listening to Newfoundland music, playing Bingo
and cards, and visits from her family and friends. Betty will be
missed by all for her contagious smile and quick sense of humor. Betty
was one of the longest residents of the Canso Seaside Manor to date.
Betty went to the manor many years ago and Raymond was always by her
side. The manor staff made Betty feel like family. The
family would like to send a “special thank you” to all the
staff at the manor for their outstanding care over the years. Betty
was very happy to meet her 1st and only
great-grandson, Liam.
There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be held at 11
a.m. Tuesday, September 3, in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Little
Dover with Father Jonathan Nnajiofor officiating. Burial to follow in
the parish cemetery.
