Elise died peacefully, after a life well lived, on August 26, 2019, with her daughters Star & Sandi by her side. She is survived by her grandchildren Scott Adams (Jennifer), Keri Adams (Craig Lee), Cassandra Genereux (Mike Kozak) & Zachariah Genereux, great grandchildren Katie and Audrey Adams, and many nephews & nieces and their children. She was predeceased by her husband Jerome, brothers Henry & Paul Levesque, sisters Mary Peterson (Bill), Jeannette Hemming & Rita Reichmuth (John Bezzegh), parents Jean & Jeanne Levesque.
Born in Pincher Creek, Alberta, Elise left the family farm at a young age and found work as a telephone operator. Soon after that she married Henry Bourassa. They lived in Blairmore where they had two children. Leaving the mining life, they moved on to Lethbridge, and had another child.
Elise worked as a professional seamstress, starting in a bridal shop which led to a lifetime of creative sewing and needlework. She took a night course to become a bookkeeper, working for several firms in Lethbridge, and later in Calgary, where she resided with her husband Les.
In 1976, a new husband, Sam, brought her to the beautiful Okanagan where the heat suited her just fine. Years later she acquired her Realtor’s License.
Elise was a snowbird for over 15 years, migrating to Mesa, Arizona. Most of those years were with her husband Jerome.
Phil was her last companion. He was sorely missed after he passed in 2013.
Elise loved to travel, ski, golf, dance, and socialize. She also loved her garden, especially her flowers.
Elise never wanted her passing to be filled with despair or gloom, but rather with a state of calm and with a positive view. She will be sadly and immensely missed by her two daughters, Starleen Mondey (Jim Nearing) and Sandi Genereux, as well as her very close friends and family.
April 24 1934 ~ August 26 2019 (age 85)
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Elise Tarcienne Levesque Demuynck..
