Edward’s Obituary
ROBICHEAU, Edward George – age 99, Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born March 24, 1920 in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late Ernest and Lena (Deveau) Robicheau. Edward worked at Laurence Sweeney Fisheries for most of his life and he was a veteran of the second World War, having served in Italy and England. Aside from being involved with Branch No. 61 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Yarmouth, Edward loved animals, reading and spending time outdoors where he enjoyed gardening, taking care of his lawn and taking drives. He was also very devoted in his Catholic faith, having been active in St. Ambrose Co-Cathedral Parish as well as the former Notre Dame Parish. Simply put, Edward loved life and saw joy in living each day. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 73 years, Catherine “Kay” (Surette) Robicheau, their daughter, Sandra M. “Sandy” (Leeman) Doucette, Yarmouth and many nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Paul, Ronald and Wally Robicheau and a sister, Rosalie Anderson. Visitation will take place on Friday from 7-9 p.m. at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth, with prayers at 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 3 from Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Yarmouth, Father Pat O’Meara officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. It has been requested that there be family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA or to a charity of your choice.
