Gibbons, Dorothy Merle
Dorothy died peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Friday, August 9, 2019. Dorothy (nee Dosser), of Jarvis was the loving wife of the late Charles (1972). She was the daughter of Ross and Flora Dosser and the beloved mother of Ross (Rita) Gibbons of Simcoe, the late Wray Gibbons, and Darrel Gibbons of Dunnville. She was the cherished Grammy of Marsha and Wayne Heeg (Jenna and Samuel), Sacha and Michael Branderhorst (Jacob, Julia, Max and Cora), Tara and Paul Vreugdenhil (Seth, Cole and Isabelle), Chuck and Brandy (Drew, Colin and Travis) and Chad and Erin (Tahlia, Felix and Romeo). Survived by her sisters Ruth Sowden and Betty Ann (Russell) Easton and sister-in-law of Eleanor “Dit” Gibbons, Jean Gibbons, Keith Gibbons, Joanne Gibbons and Olive Dosser. Predeceased by her siblings Ruby (Ed) Opersko and George Dosser and her sisters and brothers-in-law Louis, Shirley (Don) Teal, Everett (Audrey), Vernon and Victor (Mabel). She will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. She was a long-time, active member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church and she loved watching and playing baseball and spending time with family and friends. Friends are invited to call at COOPER FUNERAL HOME, 19 Talbot Street West, Jarvis on Tuesday, August 13 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service for Dorothy will be at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 65 Talbot Street East Jarvis, on Wednesday, August 14th, 2019 at 11 am. Interment St. Paul’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Jarvis. If desired, donations can be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, St. Paul’s Anglican Church or the charity of your choice.
