Our hearts are breaking at the loss of Diane (Guppy) Doyon on Friday, August 2nd, 2019 in Kirkland Lake surrounded by her loving family and wonderful friends. She was born in North Bay on February 26th, 1946, daughter of the late Leonard and Laurette (Dufresne) Guppy.
She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Doyon who was definitely one of a kind. She was the proud and loving mother of David (Salli) Doyon of Naples, Florida, Danielle Doyon of Kirkland Lake, Dustin Doyon (Deborah) and cherished daughter in law Stacey Doyon all of Collingwood. She will be wholeheartedly missed by her precious grandchildren Tyrah and Ashton. She is survived by her brother Norman (Cathy) Guppy of Powassan, and sisters Debbie (Raymond) Charette and Gina (Guy) Langis, both of North Bay.
Diane grew up in Kirkland Lake, attended KLCVI then followed her lifelong passion of becoming an elementary school teacher. She was absolutely adored by her many students during her 27 years of teaching and still fondly remembered by many of them. In her spare time, Diane was very active with her baseball and curling friends making unforgettable memories. She spent countless hours in hockey arenas and baseball diamonds cheering on her children and their many friends. The years of owning the Fed brought an abundance of laughter, incredible friendships and numerous tales that have been shared repeatedly over the years. She was also known to indulge in shenanigans with her very close friends Jane, Beth and Diana aka the YaYas. In her retirement years, she enjoyed peaceful times at Nettie Lake with Pete and the dogs, followed by moving to Florida to spend fun filled days in the sun with David and Tyrah. She returned to North Bay to enjoy quality time with her father and her siblings. “Gramma Di”, as she was affectionately known by many children, will always be remembered for the countless hours spent making “reindeer food” for Christmas and hosting special Pinterest craft sessions.
Gramma Di earned her wings and leaves behind an amazing legacy. This is not a goodbye, but merely a “til we meet again”. Forever loved.
