Obituary of Delina Gemmell
Gemmell, Delina (Moore) (nee Bechard)
A long time resident of Chatham, Delina Gemmell passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance – Chatham Campus on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 96.
Delina was the daughter of the late Henry & Della (nee Emery) Bechard.
Beloved wife of the late Gordon Moore (1989) & the late Keith Gemmell (2009).
Loving mother of Patricia Rose of Chatham, Marilyn Nevills (the late Doug) of Wallaceburg, Linda Lekavy (Charlie) of Chatham, Cindy Bakker (John) of Chatham, & Garry Moore (Tammy) of Blenheim.
Grandmother of 14, great-grandmother & great-great-grandmother.
Survived by sister Mary Louzon of Chatham and predeceased by her siblings, Pauline, Helena, Regina, Murray, Harvey, Burt, Rosaire (Twist), Leonard, Ed, Theresa, Viola, Ray, & Veronica.
Missed by many nieces & nephews.
Delina loved her home and tending to her gardens. She enjoyed crocheting and doing puzzles. Delina will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Family to receive friends on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 3:00 – 5:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 pm at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham. A Funeral Mass for Delina will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish, 145 Victoria Avenue, Chatham at 10:00 am on Saturday. Burial to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
In memory of Delina, donations may be made to the Lung Association or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
