Obituary of Dawn Marie McNamara
It is with heavy hearts, but appreciation for a lifetime of memories, that the family of Dawn McNamara announces her peaceful passing on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at her home. Born in Saint John on February 24, 1946, she was a daughter of the late William and Miriam (Lunney) McNamara.
Dawn’s joy in life was her family. She loved spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren. She also had a love of learning and attended Teacher’s College, St. Francis Xavier and McGill Universities, and received her Masters of Education degree from UNB. After teaching for many years she retired from Sus Regional High School. She also served as president for the Sus and Area Early Intervention Program.
Dawn will be missed by her husband, Gary Nichols; her children: Hugo (Chloé), Heidi (Gary), Trent (Cindy), and Ashley (Rick); beloved grandchildren, Sarina, Tristan, Matteo and Liam, Camden, Emma and Gabbie, Finnegan and Bearach;
siblings, Jean (Rob), Lynn (John), Jim (Susan) and John (Sheelah); and many nieces and nephews. Her family would like to thank her wonderful neighbours Mark and Lori Colwell who treated Dawn like family.
