Obituary of Daphne Mary Martin
In loving memory of Daphne Mary Martin (Rickard), born March 24, 1925 who passed away peacefully at GR Baker Memorial Hospital in Quesnel, BC on August 24, 2019.
Daphne was predeceased by her husband Stefan and will be missed dearly by her daughters, Kathy (Jay), Jenni; son, Philip (Liz); grandchildren, April (David), Steven (Leighann), Melissa (Gerry), Stephanie, Tiffany (John), Philip, Joanna & Katherine; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Abby & Cassie, Kyle, Michael, Penny, Mckenzie, Ryker & Lucy as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She loved knitting, drawing/ painting and reading/ writing. She was always giving her time to others especially utilizing her artistic skills for the Miss Quesnel Pageant, Quesnel Figure Skating and Billy Barker Days. In addition, Daphne was a member of the Quesnel Lions Club, Royal Canadian Legion (WWII Veteran) and Toastmasters.
Daphne always went out of her way to say “Hi” and spend a few minutes chatting, which would always leave you with a smile on your face.
The Family wants to express a special thank-you to the staff and residents of Maeford Place, the nurses at GR Baker Memorial Hospital and Dr. Van Aardt.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Quesnel SPCA, Daphne loved the dog visit program and the special animals that would visit the Maeford residence.
