With saddened and broken hearts, the family of Daniel Kenneth Villeneuve announce his passing at PRHC on Monday July 29th, 2019 at the age of 64, with his wife and best friend close by praying for him. Unexpected as it was, his gentle spirit said goodbye.
Dan was born in Toronto, Ontario. He moved to Nobleton at the age of 9 where he met his lifelong friend of 55 years, Roy. With his father they moved to Keene and he attended Crestwood High School. On graduation he attended Guelph University and from there his adventurous soul lead him to living in Orillia, Winnipeg, Regina and to settle back around Rice Lake in the Bailieboro area with his wife Lorraine to raise their children. He was a man of many passions. His gift of music, joy of cooking, supporting his family, seeking the mysteries of life, and connecting with people and ideas were a few just a few. Dan was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends, making the most of every chance to share the joy of music with his guitar and a glass of wine into the wee hours. He was fun-loving, offered different perspectives on life and genuinely sought to see and cultivate the best in everyone. He was an advocate for those who needed a little extra help in life, having come from a background in social work and helping children in care with developmental delays.
He was the loving husband of Lorraine, proud father of his children, daughter Emily (Ryan) and sons Matthew (Isabelle), Andrew (Susan), David, doting grandfather to Mara and Vincent and loyal comrade to his lifelong best friend Roy Millett. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
The family is planning an intimate private memorial. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Dan’s memory can be made to Heads Up for Inclusion, a local registered disability charity that promotes and encourages self-esteem for those students with disabilities by helping them to hold their heads up high while walking down the high school hallways through creating meaningful relationships with peer advisors.
