BRANNEN, Charles (“Dewey”) Frederick – 82, Lower East Pubnico, formerly of Charlesville, passed away August 19, 2019, at home, Lower East Pubnico. Born in Stoney Island on August 8, 1937, he was a son of the late Herbert and Isabelle (Ross) Brannen. Dewey had been a fisherman and lobster fisherman with his sons until his retirement, and enjoyed many hobbies such as carving beautiful decoys, raising heritage hens, and deer hunting. He will be remembered by all in his family and community as a quiet man but always quick to offer a warm smile and a thoughtful conversation. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Dewey is survived by his children, Danny (Connie) Brannen, Billy Joe (Jody) Brannen and Rebekah (Khoi) Quach; brothers, Enos Brannen, Joey Brannen, Malcolm (Cathy) Brannen, Lewis (Lois) Brannen, Rodney (Cindy) Brannen, Peter (Angel) Brannen; sisters, Lillian Nickerson, Christina (Cecil) O’Donnell, Vivian (Herbie) Brannen; grandchildren, Dorinda, Jake, Calen, Dustin, Logan, Summer, Linh and Clark. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Mary (Malone); brothers, Clarence Brannen, Ennis Brannen, Victor Brannen; and sister, Leora Bateman. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, August 21, 7-9 p.m. at the H. M Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. The funeral service will be held, Thursday, August 22, at 2 p.m. from the Woods Harbour Wesleyan Church with Richard MacAdams officiating. Interment to follow in the Green Grove Cemetery, Charlesville. Memorial donations in his name may be made to the Yarmouth Dialysis Unit.
