It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bodil Linner on August 19, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Bodil was born in Ysby, Sweden on August 16, 1945. She is survived by her husband, Jan Linner; her two daughters, Mia (Mike) and Lisa (Olivier); as well as her two granddaughters, Angelina and Rebecca.
Bodil and her husband immigrated to Calgary, Canada in 1973. They’ve called it ‘home’ ever since.
Throughout her years in Calgary she has been involved with the Swedish Society of Calgary, as well as has offered several years of service to Southland Transportation as a school bus driver. However, her main occupation was as a homemaker and stay-at-home mom.
She was remembered to be a kind-hearted and witty person. She had a great affinity for books, mathematics, and languages. In her spare time, she loved to garden, play the piano, sew and do other handicrafts, take photographs, dance, and pursue outdoor activities such as biking, swimming, and camping. She also loved animals and nature and will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and her two cats.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to either the Parkinson Association of Alberta or to a charity of choice.
