Obituary of Bill Woodbeck
WOODBECK: George William “Bill”
Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, July 12, 2019, in his 87th year. Bill, dearly beloved husband of the late Gertie, and loving father of Reg (Kathryn), Brenda (Ian) Pollock, Ken (Deb), Rod (Lori), and Cheryl (Doug) Little. Beloved Poppa of Nathan (Cindy) Pollock, Andrea (Steve) Kay, Andrew (Melissa) Pollock, Jason (Amy) Woodbeck, Amy(Eric) Palmer, Joe (Katie) Woodbeck, Alayna (Tyler) Kerr, Brock (Amanda) Woodbeck, Chad (Michelle) Little, and Jennifer Woodbeck. Blessed to have 19 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. Dear brother of Marjorie, Patsy, Keith, Frank, Raymond, Allan, David, Randy, and the late Doreen and Mary-Lou. Bill will be sadly missed by his exceptional friend Lois Kelly. Bill started working at General Electric in 1949. He was involved with the union from the beginning and continued to devote his entire life to the betterment of workers. In 1993 he “Retired from the job but not the fight”. Visitation will be held at ASHBURNHAM FUNERAL HOME, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough, on Monday, July 29th, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, July 30th, at 1 p.m. Private inurnment at Little Lake Cemetery at a later date.
