In Loving Memory of Allan Lester McKnight
Allan passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, August 17th, 2019, in his 85th year.
Predeceased by his loving wife Jean (nee Upton) of 60 years. Loving father of Wanda (Brian) and Kevin (Tanya). Cherished grandfather of Lauren. Dear son of Jack and Louise (Cowen) brother of Louise (Lloyd), and the late siblings Alice, Wallace, Lloyd, Leslie, Helen, Phyllis, Violet, Doreen and Jean. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Allan and family moved to Toronto in 1963 and he worked over 30 years at Canada Wire & Cable. After retirement Jean and Allan moved to Thornhill. Allan found a new group of friends at the Thornhill Seniors Club where he spent countless hours playing Cards and Carpet Bowling.
Funeral services and Interment will be held at the Maple Lake United Church, 10961 Highway 118, Maple Lake, Ontario (corner of Airport Rd. and 118) on Saturday, August 31st, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the downstairs of the church.
In light of Allan’s wishes, memorial donations to any branch of the Salvation Army or the Maple Lake United Church would be greatly appreciated by the family and can be arranged through the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., P.O. Box 427, Minden, K0M 2K0.
