1937-2019
It is with heavy hearts that we announce
the passing of Alice Theresa Cormier,
after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers, at her home on Thursday,
August 22, 2019 just 8 days short of her 82nd birthday,.
Born in Amherst, NS, Alice was a daughter of the late Anthony and
Bella (Williams) McGraw.
Alice loved camping and Bingo.
She is survived by her husband of 62
years, Ross Cormier, Amherst; daughters, Vicki (Mark), Amherst, and
Carol, Hamilton, ON; her son Gary, at home; her grandchildren,
Michael, Shannon, Joshua, Brianne, Angel, and Justice, as well as
numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Alice was the last surviving member of
her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was
predeceased by her children Michael and Karen both in infancy; her
brothers, Camille, Ernest, Patrick, Eddy, and Willie, as well as her
sisters, Irene, Gertie, Bertha, and Mona.
Cremation has taken place under the care
and guidance of the Jones Family Funeral
Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst
(902-667-8777). There is to be no visitation ore funeral
services. A burial of her remains will take place in the St.
Charles Nativity Cemetery, Amherst, at a later date.
The family would like to thank Dr.
Harrison and Kim and the Palliative Care Unit, as well as the nurses
and staff on the medical unit for the excellent care and compassion
Alice received while in their care.
For those who wish, donations in memory
of Alice may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
