Lawrence Jethro “Larry” Newell
1937-2019
Lawrence Jethro “Larry” Newell – age 82, of New
Minas, formerly of Cambridge, passed away on Thursday, August 29,
2019, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Cape Sable
Island, he was a son of the late Clarence and Myrtle (Brannen) Newell.
Lawrence worked as a plant superintendent at Larsen Packers in Berwick
and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Carol
(Nickerson); daughter, Donna; sons, Roger, Robert, Raymond and
Richard; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; brother, Roger;
nieces, nephews and extended family. Besides his parents, he was
predeceased by his sisters, Carol, Cleo; Gloria and brother, Clarence
“Buddy”. Cremation has taken place and there will be
no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a
reception, will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2019
in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Sarah Scott
officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer
Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
