It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we the family of the late Lena Maud Billard (nee Hinks) announces her peaceful passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Thursday, August 22nd, 2019 at the age of 89 years. Born in Port aux Basques, NL, Lena was the daughter of the late James and Lena Hinks (nee Matthews). Lena was also predeceased by her first husband Clyde Hugh MacLellan in 1974; son Clyde MacLellan, second husband Ronald Billard in 1999; infant sister Gladys Hinks; brothers and sisters Joseph (Florence) Hinks, Norman Hinks, Dorothy (Percy) Figary, Bessie (Cyril) Osmond, Sybina (Victor) Meade, Lillian (Gordon) McPherson, James (Vera) Hinks, Vera (Jack) Forsey and Mary Hinks.
She leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories her loving children David (Dorthy) McLellan of Port aux Basques, NL, Janet Greene of Corner Brook, NL, Cynthia (Ervin) Nippard of Fort McMurray, AB; sister-in-law Barbara Hinks; She also leaves behind five (5) grandchildren Peter, Rhonda, Jennifer, Jamie, Bobbie; nine (9) great-grandchildren Mason, Lucas, Kayden, Myelle, Loyal, Jenna Anne, Emily, Chloe, Riley, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will take place on Friday, August 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, Saturday, August 24th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 25th at 2 pm from the Salvation Army Citadel officiated by Captain Maurice Shawn Collins. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH, NL. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in memory of Lena was be made to the Salvation Army Citadel, P.O. Box 620, 85 LeGrow Street, Port aux Basques, NL, A0M 1C0.
