James Kenneth Gorman

James “Kenneth” Gorman
1952-2019
With great sadness the family announces the passing of James
Kenneth Gorman of East Tracadie. Hard-working man of few words,
stubborn, strong, unrelenting, Kenneth passed away on August 21, 2019,
at the age of 67 years young surrounded by his family.
Kenneth was born on January 10, 1952 to Sarah and Joseph
Gorman, the second youngest of nine children. On March 3, 1973, he
married the love of his life, Muriel DeCoste (Mumsy, as he always
affectionately referred to her.) Together they have four
daughters.
Throughout his life Kenneth worked tirelessly as a farmer and
a truck driver. His incredible work ethic was known by all. He worked
hard for those he loved and asked for little in return. He instilled
that pride in a job well done in his girls from a young
age.
Kenneth lived his life fully through the simple pleasures. He
was not a traveller. Instead, he preferred to be close to home. He
loved early morning breakfasts and coffees with his friends, a good
card or crib game, Mumsy’s baking and he enjoyed being with
his grandchildren. He was a lover of music and a beautiful
dancer.
Although very quiet he had a huge network of friends from all
walks of life. He could always be counted on to help out a neighbour
or lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Ken had a wonderful ability to
connect with people. His thunderous laugh and nicknames will be missed
by all.
Cherished husband of Muriel (DeCoste); Dearly loved father of
Lee Ann (Abhi), Amy (Kevin), April and Stephanie (Farhan) and adored
grandfather of Raja, Jesse, Willow, Jaia, Carter and Luke and
step-grandfather of Paige and Brooke.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm
at C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St., Antigonish.
Funeral mass will be held Monday at 10:30 pm in St. Peter’s
Church, Tracadie, Fr. John Barry and Fr. Daniel Boudreau
presiding.
In lieu of flowers, donations can please be made to the 4.1
