Rex Williams

Life Story for
Rex Williams
Williams, Rex (born 1934 in London, England), a resident of Niagara-on-the-Lake for over 25 years, passed away on August 20, 2019 from brain cancer. Rex moved from England at 20 years old and had a long career at General Motors in Oshawa and Detroit before moving to St. Catharine’s and managing Neal Pontiac and Buick. After retiring in 1992, Rex and his wife, Dorothy, moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake. Rex was quite involved in the area, including Board President of NOTL Golf Club. He was an active Bridge player and golfed until his health made this more difficult. Rex had a genuine love for people and a generosity that extended beyond family and touched many. He will be missed for his charm, his wit and his poetry and mostly for his deep love of family. Rex is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy, his sons Kyle (Vanessa), Greg (Kelly) and Sean (Peggy), his grandchildren, Chelsea, Spencer, Blake, Lucien, Kiana, Miles, Boone, Sophie and Sam as well as his two great grandchildren, Camden and Jacob. We would like to thank the many friends in the community who have reached out to Rex and family during this period and who have provided support and care. We would also like to thank Doctor Jennifer Frendo and Doctor Wayne Gruber for their excellent care over the years. Special thanks to The Stabler Center where Rex spent his final days and where he found great comfort and support. If so desired, donations to Hospice Niagara, The Stabler Centre, 403 Ontario Street, St. Catharines, Ontario, L2N 1L5 would be appreciated.
