Vernona’s Obituary
STEWART, Vernona Gail – 77, passed away peacefully in Yarmouth Regional Hospital surrounded by her family on August 19th, 2019. She was born Vernona Nickerson in Clark’s Harbour to Leslie “King” and Gladys (Penny) Nickerson. She is survived by her brother, Edwin (June) Hatheway “Brother” as well as her children, Michael (Yvette), Crystal (Jim) and Wade. In addition to her grandchildren, Jeremy (Trish), Michelle (Andy) and Emily (Cory), she was also a great-grandmother to Delilah and Chevelle whom she adored. Vernona was predeceased by her parents, Leslie “King” and Gladys, sister, Sandra and husband, Robie. She loved her pets and always had a cat or two and her beloved dog, Smokey who never left her side. One to never miss a bargain, she loved shopping. Her favorite store was Canadian Tire. A devoted Christian she loved going to church and spending time with her friends. She was a very special lady and will be truly missed. There will be a visitation on Saturday August 24, at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington, from 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be on Sunday August 25 at the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington at 2 pm, with Pastor Wayne Dooks officiating. Donations may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
