George Edward Anderson

Passed away at the Oakview Place Personal Care Home, Winnipeg MB, on Friday August 16, 2019 at the age of 87 years, George Edward Anderson, of Winnipeg MB. George leaves to mourn his passing his sons Mark (Jillian) of Winnipeg, Eric of Rio De Janeiro Brazil, stepdaughter Lynell Taylor of Arizona, sisters Dorothy Parsonage of Brandon MB, Marjorie (Murray) Young of Dartmouth NS as well as numerous nieces & nephews.
George was predeceased by his wife Bernice (nee Heidman) in 2009, parents Eirikur & Anna Anderson and sister Kristin Larson.
George was born & raised in the Baldur area. He worked for CN Rail surveying the rail lines and then taught Civil Technology & Surveying at Red River College for more than 25 years. Upon retirement, George & Bernice retired to Gimli where they were involved in numerous community organizations. After the passing of Bernice, George moved back to Winnipeg and upon deteriorating health, moved into Oakview Place where he passed away.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday August 24, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Glenboro Cemetery with Sharon Hamilton officiating. Following the interment, a reception will be held in the Christian Education Building in Glenboro.
Everyone is welcome.
