Moya Helen Mather of Simcoe, Ontario
July 15, 1925 – August 19, 2019
We are saddened by the sudden passing of Moya peacefully in her sleep at her residence in Norview Lodge, Simcoe in her 95th year. Loving mother to Garry (Pam), Brian (Jan), Sharon (Andrew) and Brenda (Rick). Dear sister to Wendy in Sydney B.C. and sister-in-law Shirley in Victoria B.C. and their families as well as many relatives in Collingwood. Moya has four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was a lover of animals and leaves behind her fur baby Paddy a stray cat that she lovingly adopted. Moya is predeceased by her husband Bob (2016). Moya and Bob were active members of the Salvation Army Church. She was also actively involved in the Simcoe Figure Skating Club as an on ice volunteer and CFSA judge. It was through skating that she met Bob at a rink in Victoria where he was stationed in the army during the Second World War. Moya and Bob, in recent years, were easily recognized around town on their twin scooters. They loved to travel and took many trips to Florida and Hawaii as well as many cruises. Following cremation a Visitation will be held at THE FERRIS FUNERAL HOME, 214 Norfolk St., S., Simcoe on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Salvation Army or the Simcoe and District Humane Society would be appreciated. A life well lived and loved by many. Online condolences at ferrisfuneral.com.
