Alexander Borzush, 83 of Wakaw, SK, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with heart disease on August 1, 2019 in Cudworth, SK. A celebration of Alex’s life will be held at the Wakaw, SK St. Theresa’s Parish with Prayers, Wednesday August 7, 2019, 7:00pm and Mass, Thursday, August 8, 2019, 10:00 am. Alex was born March 6, 1936 at SW Sec 14 Twp 43 Rge 26 W3, Wakaw, SK.
He will be lovingly remembered by Adina, wife of 38 years; daughters Deborah (Dan) Thoms, Brenda (Bernie) Slugoski; granddaughter Taylore (Rich) Fillo, great granddaughter Olivia, grandson Kyle Slugoski; son Michael Borzush; stepson Randy (Kelly) Watson, step-grandson Tyler (Hanna) Watson, step-granddaughter Laurissa (David) Rievl, step-great granddaughters Audry, Astrid, step-grandsons Joel (Jordan) Watson, William (Brianna) Watson; step-son Gordon (Joni) Watson, step-granddaughter Chasity Watson, step-great granddaughter Ariana Watson, step-great great granddaughter Hazel Watson, step-grandson Jeremy(Liz) Watson, step-great grand daughter Olivia Watson, step-grandson Andrew Watson, step-granddaughter Karley Watson; step-son Harold (Lois) Watson; step-son Murray (Ying) Watson; step -daughter Norah Watson (John Gulansky), step-grandsons Joel (Karli Richardson) Gulansky, Tyren Gulansky, step-granddaughter Dyleah Gulansky and all his nieces and nephews.
Alex was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Elizabeth Borzush, his wife of 22 years Anne (O’Flaherty) Borzush; sister Julianna (Matt) Levitsky, brothers Dan (Irene) (Margaret) Borzush, Peter (Eva) Borzush, Steve (Nellie) Borzush, Ernie (Norma) Borzush and Joseph Borzush.
Alex farmed SW Sec 14 Twp 43 Rge 26 W3 quarter most of his life while working as Rural Lineman for the RM of Hoo Doo for 17 years and then an 18 year career with Saskatchewan Telecommunications as a Cableman. Alex always took pride in the service he provided especially to all rural telephone customers. He made many friends along the way through the 35 years as a Lineman. Alex had a unique connection with animals, loved music, to dance polkas, fishing, making bird houses, and especially loved to play cribbage and kaiser with all his family and friends. Alex was a loving son, husband, father and uncle. He loved his family more than anything and was always supportive and understanding. We are so fortunate to have had in our lives. His spirit will live on in each of us and he will be missed beyond words.
A private interment will be held at a later date by the family. Donations in memory of Alex can be made to the Heart and Stoke Foundation, Diabetes Association and the Cancer Foundation.
