Terry Bowen, formerly of Thornbury, son of Mabel (nee Weatherall) and the late William ‘Bill’ Bowen (2006), passed away suddenly at his home in Oshawa on Sunday August 4, 2019 at the age of 58.
Terry was the loved husband and companion of Mary for 15 years and loving father of Stephanie McKenna (Ryan Mitchell) and proud Papa T to Kerrison William McKenna.
He was a dear brother of Diane Cornfield (Keith), Bill Bowen, Brenda Hinksman (Roger) and the late Vernon Bowen and will be remembered also by Donna Chappell Bowen. Terry will be sadly missed by his several nieces and nephews and their families: Rod Willis (Carrie), Crystal Tackaberry (Andrew), Robyn Willis (Dereck), Tracey Arnold (John), Angie Whitton (Ian) and David Bowen (Jill).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Mount Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby on Thursday August 15, 2019 from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of the memorial service in the chapel at 3:00 o’clock.
A private family graveside service of committal and interment of Terry’s cremated remains will take place at Thornbury-Clarksburg Union Cemetery at a later date.
Family will receive friends at the Meaford Curling Club, 130 Collingwood St. W., Meaford on Saturday August 17th where refreshments and a further celebration of Terry’s life will be shared from 1 until 4 o’clock.
If so desired and as your expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home serving the Blue Mountains and Meaford. www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca
